Reasons to not have children

Do people just lack imagination about what adult life can be?  There are many things out there that can be learned, there are many things that are interesting.  Why do we default to "kids" when we consider what our 20s/30s/40s/50s could hold?

- I want to just hang out w/ my wife
- We want to hang out w/ our friends

- I don't want my potential child to grow up in a world that's going headlong into apocalyptic territory

- Seriously if you haven't thought about what climate change is gonna do to the next generation, why are you having children

- My children should not be more afraid than me, but they will be if this shit continues

- God I don't wanna spend every day in kidland.  I want to talk about ideas, not poop

- Or even if I'm talking about poop I want it to be in like in an adult way
