It's weird that happiness is the expected, natural state for humans/Americans.
I'm a cheerful person and I'm happier than a lot of people. But I think I'm still more angry than happy. And I'm sad a lot, too.
Man this has probably been said a hundred times better by like Walter fucking Benjamin or something. But it is totally weird. Like, the idea that I "deserve" to "be happy"? What the fuck is that? There are a few things I think a civilized society should provide humans: food, healthcare, shelter. But providing happiness? How does one do that?
I don't "deserve" to be happy. You don't fucking know what a prick I am if you think that.
